SPRING BREAK CAMP 2018

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Conservation Camp:  Going, going, saved!  Each day spring break campers will focus on a vulnerable or endangered species or an endangered species success story while they explore related Ripley’s Believe It or Not artifacts and participate in fun games, crafts and tours. Seeing is believing at Spring Break Camp! Grades:  JK-6th (To attend, child must be at least 4 years old and potty-trained.)

Aftercare 3:00 to 6:00 P.M.:  If 3 p.m. pickup is too early for your schedule, we offer aftercare each day.  A way for your child to unwind while you finish your work day, aftercare consists of educational videos, activities and games.

Aftercare Cost per Day:  $20/members; $25/non-members
Aftercare Cost per Week: $85/members; $99/nonmembers

Please note: cancellations made prior to one (1) week before the first day of Camp will forfeit 50% of the program cost. Cancellations made within one (1) week of the first day of Camp will not receive a refund. No-shows will not receive a refund. Rescheduling your Camp week more than once will incur a $20 rescheduling fee for each time Camp is rescheduled. The Memphis Zoo reserves the right to cancel a camp class that does not reach minimum enrollment. Full refunds will be given to those who registered before cancellation. The Memphis Zoo reserves the right to remove a child from camp if his/her behavior is disruptive or creates a safety hazard. There will be no refunds if a child is removed from camp.

ZOO CAMP 2018

Send your wild child to the wildest camp around: ZOO CAMP. Campers will explore the fascinating world of animals while participating in fun games, crafts, tours, keeper chats, live animal visits and more. Parents must provide a non-refrigerated, non-microwavable lunch. Registrations by May 1st receive one free camp t-shirt per camper. Campers should register for their grade level for the 2018/2019 school year.

July 2 (No Camp on July 4)

Camper must be at least 4 years old and potty-trained by the first day of camp. Second class added for May 29th-June 1st Seeing is believing! Campers will explore artifacts on loan from Robert Ripley's collection while also enjoying up-close encounters with some oddities from the animal kingdom.

Did you know that tarantulas love bug smoothies? Campers will discover this and other animal oddities at Ripley's camp. We'll even explore artifacts on loan from Ripley's Believe It or Not! while enjoying all the usual Zoo Camp fun.

Campers will investigate the science of Ripley's Believe It or Not! including genetics, upcycling, optical illusions and more. We'll spend time exploring some of Ripley's BIONs while discovering animal oddities, too.

PK-JK PK-JK camps are ONLY half day: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Aftercare will NOT be available for these campers. To attend, child must be at least 3 years old and potty-trained.
$85 members/$99 nonmembers

Down on the Farm
June 4, July 9

It's time to get down on the farm! Explore life on the farm feeding animals, making dairy products, and as our sheep say "having a bla-a-a-ast."

Animal Rhymes
June 18, July 23

Eenie-meeny-miny-mo - your camper will surely want to go (to Animal Rhymes camp, that is!). Learn about the animals in some popular rhymes. With Zoo tours and crafts, we'll have a great time!

Growing Wild

Learn all about animal opposites and discover how every animal-short or tall-has an important role in their ecosystem.

Jr. Zoo Vet

See how the Zoo takes care of the animals and explore basic vet techniques from making healthy diets to performing health checks.

Can you run as fast as a cheetah or hold your breath like a whale? Test your skills while learning about some truly amazing animals that go for the gold.

Rainforest Rumble

Engineered for Flight

Breakdown the inner mechanics of animals that can defy gravity. Campers will enjoy discovering more about flighted (as well as flightless) animals.

Leader of the Pack

Prides, packs, parliaments and parades all have a leader to follow. We'll examine the social structures of these groups and learn what it takes to be the top banana in the animal world.

Memphis Zoo U'18
June 25, July 16 & July 30

This summer Memphis Zoo U will explore art in nature. Nature is full of masterpieces including colors, textures and shapes represented in the animal kingdom and beyond. Campers will enjoy exploring natural art and even creating some art of their own.
