Baby Red Panda Born at the Memphis Zoo

MEMPHIS, TENN. – Zookeepers at the Memphis Zoo recently welcomed the first red panda cub since 2005. “Justin” was born July 1 to parents “Ryo” and “Pele.”   The bouncing baby boy was born on exhibit in The Commercial Appeal Cat Country. Lantana camara Confetti

Lantana camara Confetti is currently growing in the Plaza containers situated around the Nile fountain. It can grow two to three feet in height and up to four feet wide. As you can see in the photo, the colors of the flower clusters are pink, orange and yellow. The foliage is dark green and leathery feeling. Memphis Zoo Welcomes Baby Sea Lion to Northwest Passage

MEMPHIS, TENN. – Staff members at the Memphis Zoo welcomed a baby California sea lion pup on June 27. The newest addition to Northwest Passage was born to proud parents, “Andre” and “Callie.”   The baby girl, named “Teva,” is currently being hand-reared by Zoo staff. This is the first successful sea lion birth at the Memphis Zoo.
