Memphis Zoo Welcomes New Rhinos

MEMPHIS, TENN. – The Memphis Zoo is pleased to announce the addition of a pair of Southern white rhinoceroses. Memphis Zoo Mourns the Loss of African Lion

Memphis Zoo Mourns the Loss of African Lion    MEMPHIS, TENN. - The Memphis Zoo is deeply saddened to announce the death of “Savannah,” one of the Zoo’s African lionesses. Savannah died March 12 at the age of 20, after her health began to dramatically decline earlier this month.   As Zoo keepers and veterinarians began to notice her decline, she was put on Zoo hospice care to closely monitor her health and keep her as comfortable as possible. Carla's PBI Trip, Day One

Greetings from Churchill! As we approached this morning I was struck by how different the tundra looked. It was less snowy, more brown, and much more wet than I had imagined. As we deplaned we were greeted by amazing Polar Bears International staff members who quickly distributed warm parkas before taking us for our first glimpse of the beautiful Hudson Bay. Zookeepers Mourn the Loss of Beloved Male Bonobo at Memphis Zoo

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – “Mofana,” the Memphis Zoo’s lone adult male bonobo, passed away as he slept during the night Friday, August 29. He was discovered early Saturday morning as he appeared to still be peacefully sleeping in his nest.
