The Budgie House is Open!

The Budgie House, home to the Zoo's flock of budgies, is open for the Summer! It's included with general admission. Feeding sticks are $1.

Budgies, also known as parakeets, are native to Australia. Their name is derived from an Australian slang word “budgery,” meaning good. Budgies are psittacines, which means they are seed eaters. They have cone-shaped beaks that allow them to easily eat seeds.
