Memphis Zoo and Kroger's Partnership to Reduce Plastic Waste is Making an Impact

MEMPHIS, TENN (Oct. 28, 2019)  - Kroger Delta Division has partnered with the Memphis Zoo since this April to offer endangered species designed resuable bags sold exclusively in more than 40 participating Mid-South area Kroger stores. That partnership to reduce the use of plastic bags in and around the Memphis Zoo is finally paying off.

On October 28th, Kroger presented the Zoo with a check for $8,000 from the special sale of the bags that donated a small portion of the sale back to the Zoo.  The partnership with the Zoo was part of Kroger’s Zero Hunger Zero Waste initiative, a mission to end waste in local communities by 2025.
