What happens during a Scout Group Zoo Snooze?

Each Zoo Snooze starts with a fun and educational animal experience based on the badge- or elective-earning program topic of your choice (see below). Your scouts will have a chance to learn about and meet a variety of animals up close and personal while satisfying some of the requirements for a scout badge, elective, or achievement.

Later in the evening, your group will enjoy a Moonlight Safari through the Zoo, where you’ll visit some of our indoor exhibits, as well as take a special behind-the-scenes tour of our Nutrition Center. When your group returns to the classroom, there will be time for games or activities, depending again on your topic choice.

Before bed, we offer a light snack and a movie, and lights go out typically around 10:00 p.m. In the morning, your group will be awakened around 7:00 a.m. for a continental breakfast before packing up belongings and moving them back to your vehicles. Then you’ll take one more tour through the Zoo before the Zoo is opened to the public at 9:00 a.m.
