KEY POINTS   

  1. Zoo Rendezvous restaurant space is limited and spots fill quickly. So, sign up today!  Click on link above to submit your commitment form.
  2. We must receive a Certificate of Insurance from your insurance carrier. Remember, the Memphis Zoo and the City of Memphis must be named as additional insured. Also, bars must include Liquor Liability on the form. Please fax certificate to 901.333.6502. 
  3. Servers MUST be 21 years or older.
  4. We expect approximately 3,500 attendees. You should plan to serve at least 2,500 people.
  5. You must be set and ready to greet guests when the gates open at 7:00pm. You must not break down your booth prior to 10:30pm, even if finished serving.
  6. Zoo ambassadors will assist restaurants during load-in and during the event.
  7. You will receive the load-in information at the restaurant/bar meeting, along with your route map.
  8. Pepsi is the Zoo's exclusive provider of soft drinks and water. Only Pepsi soft drink logos are allowed.

   

 THE ZOO WILL PROVIDE

 

YOU MUST PROVIDE 

  • Restaurants: Three 6-ft. tables in a "U" shape
  • Bars: Four 6-ft. tables
  • White table cloths
  • Disposable serving products
   
  • Serving equipment
  • Coolers
  • Decorations
  • Personnel (21 yrs. old and up)
  • Any additional signage
  • Extension cords and power strips

 

LOAD IN PROCEDURES FOR RESTAURANTS AND BARS

  1. Load-in begins at 2pm.
  2. Access into Zoo ends at 5:30pm.  All cars must be removed from inside the Zoo and parked in the designated parking area by 6pm.
  3. All participants will enter the Zoo via the East Gate, off North Parkway.  This is the ONLY participant check-in location.  Absolutely no entry via the front gates.
  4. Upon entry, participants will be directed to one of two routes to complete their load-in.
  5. Parking is limited. Please encourage carpooling and limit the amount of cars/trucks as much as possible.

 

BADGES

  1. Each restaurant will receive 6 badges for helper/server entry.
  2. Each bar will receive 5 badges.
  3. Every person must have a badge to enter the Zoo. By exception, temporary badges are available at the East Gate for those people helping to set up but not staying.
  4. If servers are working in shifts, a server must exit the Zoo for the next to enter.
  5. Badges can be left at the check-in location for split shift entry.
  6. If a badge is being used for someone other than a server, that person must enter through the east gate. No front gate badge entry is allowed.  

 

After the Event

  1. You will not be able to bring vehicles back inside the Zoo until we get an all-clear from security.
  2. Please leave Zoo supplied linens and other supplies for our ambassadors to pick up.
  3. If you indicate that you will be using grease on the Restaurant Commitment Form, we will provide someone to help with disposal.  
  4. Instructions will be given at the restaurant/bar meeting regarding food donations to local charities.

  

SAFETY FOR ALL – REQUIREMENTS

  1. The fire inspector requires each restaurant/bar to have a fire extinguisher. The fire inspector is on site and does inspect. Don't forget to bring one.
  2. The Zoo is open to guests during the set up of Rendezvous. We respectfully ask that Rendezvous participants wait until the Zoo is closed before consuming alcoholic beverages.
  3. We must receive a Certificate of Insurance from your insurance carrier. Remember, the Memphis Zoo and the City of Memphis must be named as additional insured. Also, bars must include Liquor Liability on the form. Please fax certificate to 901.333.6502.
