Docent Training

Orientation: Saturday, January 10, 2009

An informational orientation for those interesting in becoming a docent will be held at the Zoo Saturday, January 10, 2009, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. in the classrooms. This provides an opportunity for those interested to ask questions and receive a lot more information about what it takes to be a Memphis Zoo docent. Following the orientation, once the docent associates are selected, formal classroom sessions will begin in late January.  Associates will have a choice between attending Thursday or Saturday's classes. All sessions will be in the classrooms from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Classes will be held each week through late March. To register, please submit a volunteer application to the Volunteer Coordinator of the Memphis Zoo or email educationinfo@memphiszoo.org for more information.
