HOURS OF ADMISSION

March 1 - October 27 (Summer Hours)

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

October 28 - February 29* (Winter Hours)

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Grounds close one hour after last admission.

*The Zoo is closed during the day on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The Zoo will re-open on Thanksgiving night and Christmas night at 5:30 p.m. for SunTrust Zoo Lights.

General Admission Prices

Price includes admission to ALL exhibits (including giant pandas).

  • Children (Ages 2-11): $10
  • Seniors (Age 60+): $14
  • Parking: $5

Group Rates

If you bring a group of 20 or more, will receive a 20% discount on the price of general admission tickets. Tickets are available by calling (901) 333-6543.  Reservations are encouraged. If you have a group of 20 or more, you are entitled to the group discount at the front gate. Admission price includes entrance to all exhibits.
* Group rates cannot be paid individually. They must be paid with one transaction for the whole group. 

MILITARY PERSONNEL

Discounted general admission tickets are available by contacting the Millington Naval Base (901.874.5455), Little Rock Air Force Base (501.987.5105), the Fort Campbell Army Base (270.798.7436) and Columbus, Miss., Air Force Base (662.434.7861).

ZOO RULES

The Zoo does not allow balloons, glass containers, alcohol, weapons, bicycles, rollerblades, skates or the popular roller shoes, Heelys, on its property. Coolers and children's wagons are welcome.

Appropriate dress for a family-friendly institution is required. Attire not permitted includes, but is not limited to, visible underwear and clothing that promotes or displays profanity, violence, drugs or alcohol or criminal activity.

Profane language, fighting, or any acts of violence are strictly prohibited.

To protect the health and safety of our animals and visitors, the Memphis Zoo is a smoke-free facility.

Pets are not allowed inside the Zoo. Please make arrangements to board your animal before visiting. NOTE: Special accommodations will be made for certified service animals. Please call 901.276.WILD or e-mail zooinfo@memphiszoo.org for more information.

Ice Skating Rink Admission Guidelines

  • Persons ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older.
  • Adults age 21 and older may accompany up to five children ages 16 and under.

Free Tuesday Afternoon Guidelines

  • The Memphis Zoo allows free general admission to Tennessee residents on Tuesday afternoons from 2 p.m. to close.
  • Persons ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult age 21 or older.
  • Adults age 21 and older may accompany up to five children ages 16 and under.
  • Photo ID with proof of age and TN residency are required for free admittance. TN Drivers license, current TN college or TN military photo ID will be accepted.
  • Free Tuesdays will not be held during the month of March.

The Memphis Zoo has a capacity of 10,000 people in the facility at one time. Please check this page on the day of your visit for announcements regarding capacity.

Worried about capacity when planning your trip? - The Zoo has reached capacity attendance levels only once during the last twelve months, and it was on our popular Free Tuesday program. The Zoo will forecast exceptionally busy days in this section to let you prepare in the event that we reach capacity.
