Church and Other Group Snoozes
The following programs are available for all group snoozes
Animal Adaptations Snooze -
An ‘adaptation’ is anything about a plant or an animal
that helps it to survive in its environment. From a giraffe’s long neck to a
tortoise’s shell, and from a rat’s whiskers to a bird’s beak, come and learn
how animals stay alive in the wild.
Animals of the Bible Snooze - Do you know the story of Noah’s Ark? What about Jonah and the whale? Examine the wonder of God’s creations
as you explore animals as they are discussed in the Bible. Learn lessons from amazing animals and
their adaptations.
Beautiful Birds Snooze - It takes more than feathers to make a bird a bird.
Come learn about how these amazing creatures fly, swim, walk, and sometimes,
even talk! This Snooze includes an owl pellet dissection for every three participants.
Endangered Species Snooze - Our Endangered Species Snooze focuses on more than
just endangered animals. Your group will also learn about how these
creatures become endangered, as well as things we all can do to help protect
them.
Exploring China Snooze -
This Snooze celebrates the Memphis Zoo’s China Exhibit
by focusing on Chinese culture and the animals that are native to the area,
such as the Giant Panda.
Fabulous Frogs Snooze - Frogs do more than hop and croak! These slimy
creatures can also tell us about the health of our planet. Find out exactly how
frogs and their amphibian friends help us, and learn how we can help them, too. This Snooze includes a frog dissection
for every five participants.
Marvelous Mammals Snooze - At this Snooze your group will learn about mammals and
the things that set them apart from other animals. We’ll also discuss how
mammals are classified, or grouped into families according to the different
things they have in common with one another.
Nocturnal Adventures Snooze - At our most popular Snooze, your group will learn
about nocturnal creatures, or those animals that wake up when the sun goes
down. This Snooze includes an owl pellet for dissection for every three participants.
No Place Like Home Snooze -
A ‘habitat’ is more than just a place where animals
live. It must contain proper food, water, shelter, and space for every creature
that calls it home. Come and learn about different types of habitats found
around the world. Participants will even have a chance to make their very own
habitat model.
Navigating the Northwest Snooze - This Snooze focuses on animals that live in
Northwestern North America, including sea lions, snowy owls, and polar bears.
Come learn how these animals stay alive in a harsh environment and how we, here
in the Mid-South, can help them survive.
Radical Reptiles Snooze
Do you know the difference between a turtle and a
tortoise, or a crocodile and an alligator? How about what separates a lizard
from a snake? After participating in this Snooze, you’ll know all that, and
more.
