Birthday Parties
Is the thought of planning a birthday party driving you wild? We'll throw a party that exceeds your wildest dreams.
Host your party at the Memphis Zoo, and you'll excite a whole herd of pint-sized party goers. We’ll handle all the details so you can enjoy the party, too!
Party Package
- Includes (Effective for parties booked on or after March 13, 2011): Invitations, animal themed cake plates and napkins, a souvenir T-shirt for the birthday child, parking and admission for up to 20 guests (including adults) and party room for 2 hours.
- Price (Effective March 13, 2011):
- Zoo Members: $300 for 1-20 people
- Non-Members: $350 for 1-20 people
- Additional Guest: $10 Per Person
- Payment: A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a specific date and
time for your party. The balance of your payment is due no later than
seven days prior to your event.
- Rain Policy: All parties will be held
as scheduled, as the Memphis Zoo is open rain or shine.

- 6 Ride Punch Card - $5*
You get 6 rides for the price of 5! Rides operate March through October.
- Air Brush Tattoo Artist - $125 per hour
Choose from a wide selection of temporary tattoos.
- Magic Mr. Nick

- Face Painting - $125 per hour
- Animal Encounters - $125
Treat your guests to an experience they'll never forget, featuring some of the Memphis Zoo's amazing animals! These encounters offer special guided tours or hands-on experiences that you won't find anywhere else!
- Snakey Meet & Greet – For those boys and girls who love snakes (they exist) a zookeeper will bring up several harmless tame snakes for the kids to touch, hold and enjoy. Plenty of opportunity for parents to get photos of their children holding the snakes.
- Giant Turtle Encounter – The birthday party will be escorted to the giant tortoise lot, where they will walk right up to giant 400 lb. Tortoise. These animals are truly gentle giants, and will thrill the kids by eating bananas given to the children beforehand. Smaller tots (up to 80 lbs.) will be allowed to sit on the tortoises for photographs, and may get a free ride courtesy of the turtle! This encounter will take place outside April 15 - October 15 and inside October 16 - April 14.
- Aquarium Feeding Frenzy – Birthday partiers get a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Aquarium and see the fish at their most exciting --- when the Zoo Keeper offers the daily banquet of minnows, beefheart, and fruits. Watch as Piranhas devour their prey, or the giant Amazonian catfish swallow chunks of meat. The keeper will let the Birthday boy or girl help with the feeding.
- Guided Tour of Cat Country - Enjoy a special tour of Cat Country where these party goers will learn all about our feline friends. Cat Country houses some of the word's biggest cats like the African lion and the Sumatran Tiger to the sleekest and fastest cat around, the cheetah. You'll learn about each of these on a more personal level through this special tour.
- Guided Tour of Once Upon A Farm - As one of the most interactive exhibits in the Zoo, Once Upon A Farm gives visitors the chance to get up close and personal with the animals as they learn about life on the farm. You'll be greeted by friendly goats and sheep, and may even see a rooster walking right next to you.
- Meet a Penguin – Come nose to nose with one of our penguins at the Penguin Rock exhibit. Learn from the keeper facts and interesting patterns of penguin life. Sorry, NO TOUCHING ALLOWED. (For children 5 years and older)
- The Lil' Memphis Zoo - Surprise your guests with party participants who have real animal mystique! A screech owl from the woods, an armadillo from the grasslands, an iguana from the rainforest or a chinchilla from the mountains are just a few of the creatures who can travel from the wilds of the world to your party. Requests for certain types of animals will be given consideration but a specific animal cannot be guaranteed. However, any of our animal ambassadors will be a hit with your party animals!
